Business Operations Update – Closure of studio, but online operations remain open

The past week has been trying, to say the least, where social rules were changing almost on a daily basis. By now, many of you should be aware that our studio at Telok Ayer will close from 6th April 2020 (Monday). This closure will last for as long as the nation deems necessary. However, our online operations will remain open and online orders will continue to be fulfilled with minimal disruption.

Many of you wrote in to wish us well and encouraged us to hang in there. A number of you even placed orders to show your support, even though you may be going through uncertainties and anxieties of your own. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

We would also like to share the following with you.

Business Operations

We are thankful to be able to continue online operations. All orders made via www.perkbykate.com will continue to be fulfilled.

However, in light of the special social circumstances, we will roster no more than 2 people (including myself) to be at our warehouse to fulfill your orders. On a daily basis, a rotating member of our team will work with me at the warehouse while the rest will stay home. Emails and messages will continue to be read and responded to.

We support the government's social distancing measures and will play our part too.

During this period, all members of our team will continue to receive full pay. We will also continue to support our freelance rider, Rahmat, who has helped out with our courier service for the last 5 years. Special mention is necessary here – Rahmat is a super kind and hardworking Malaysian uncle who commutes daily from Johor and was caught off guard by the Malaysian border closures. It is impossible for us, under such circumstances, to exclude him from our team arrangements.

This too shall pass

Our spirits are dampened, mostly because of the rising number of cases in Singapore. But this too shall pass.

No one has it easy and it is more critical than ever to show love, care and concern. And we are heartened to observe spontaneous acts of love and kindness amongst our community.

During this period, look out for each other, pay it forward. We will all make it through. Please stay safe and healthy.
